The memorandum was signed by Robert Kuzmič, CEO of Kontron, and Alibek Aldongarov, Director of Organizational Development and Human Resource Management at Kazakhmys Corporation.
The partnership aims to introduce modern communication and 5G solutions, develop the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), and enhance cybersecurity across the enterprises of the Kazakhmys Group.
The main goal of the agreement extends beyond exchanging experience to achieving tangible benefits: reducing operational costs, boosting production efficiency, and accelerating the digital modernization of Kazakhmys’ facilities. The cooperation will also enhance working conditions and support employees by optimizing processes and improving workplace safety.
With these new technologies, departments across Kazakhmys will gain more stable communications, experience fewer equipment failures, and benefit from improved safety measures. New monitoring systems will allow quicker detection of malfunctions and proactive risk prevention, leading to increased uptime, higher safety standards, and greater operational confidence.
As part of the agreement, the parties will conduct pilot industrial tests of 5G technologies, evaluate their effectiveness, and assess their compatibility with the existing infrastructure. This will enable the implementation of solutions that deliver tangible benefits for both employees and production processes.
Furthermore, the companies will jointly implement communication monitoring and control systems to strengthen information security and industrial safety.
The partnership also provides favorable commercial conditions and a long-term cooperation program, from pilot projects to large-scale industrial deployments.
Cooperation with Kontron will enable Kazakhmys to accelerate the adoption of new communication standards, enhance equipment reliability, and establish a foundation for the company’s sustainable technological development.
