Making a major operator ready for 5G
One of key elements in the mobile 5G network is accurate timing. Recently, Iskratel implemented a synchronisation solution at a major Slovenian operator.
The ADVA Oscilloquartz-based synchronisation solution with multiband multi-constellation GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) and advanced core grandmaster clocks supports PTP (Precision Time Protocol), NTP (Network Time Protocol) and SyncE (Synchronous Ethernet) over multiple 1GE and 10GE Ethernet interfaces.
The installed ePRTC (Enhanced Primary Reference Time Clock) solution with an optical Caesium-based atomic clock features excellent holdover to enable highly stable synchronisation over an extended lifetime.
For a premium service to the operator, ADVA Ensemble Management system provides continuous monitoring and assurance of precise frequency, phase and time distribution, giving the operator full insight into the quality of synchronisation in the network.
